Workington Town have confirmed their second pre-season friendly – another Cumbrian derby against Barrow Raiders.

Anthony Murray will take his Town squad down the coast to take on his former club at The Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium on January 22.

Town will miss out on their derby clashes with Raiders and Whitehaven but now have both pencilled in for pre-season warm-up games.

It all starts on Sunday, January 15 when Town defend the Ike Southward Memorial Trophy with the annual fixture, this time at Whitehaven’s LEL Arena.

Murray, who was appointed to succeed Chris Thorman in the head coach role is putting together his squad for the return to League One.

He will be starting to work with the squad later this month as the players assemble for pre-season training.
