Former Carlisle striker Ashley Nadesan gave Crawley a narrow 1-0 win over Barrow with a sixth minute goal.
Nadeson scored 12 goals in 40 League games for Carlisle between 2018 and 2019 but has been a regular for Crawley since then.
His strike made it five goals in his last five league games and helped Crawley to a third successive home win and an unbeaten record under caretaker manager Lewis Young.
Barrow had been looking for a fourth successive league win but that defeat drops them one place to fifth.
The only goal was scored after just six minutes after a goal-kick by Ellery Balcombe was kept in play by Nick Tsaroulla. The ball was moved to Dom Telford and his low cross was knocked home by Nadesan at the far post.
There were opportunities for Barrow but keeper Balcombe, on loan from Brentford, did really well to turn over a shot from 25 yards by Tom White on 29 minutes.
Then when Crawley captain George Francomb slipped there was just a sniff for Josh Kay but his effort from the edge of the area was too high.
Crawley had a good spell at the start of the second half but Barrow keeper Paul Farman denied Tsaroulla and Telford just couldn’t connect with a cross at the far post.
Billy Waters had a snap shot saved by Balcombe and near the end Farman went forward for a Barrow corner but Crawley held on for a hard-fought win.
