Barrow manager Pete Wild will take a better second-half performance as a positive from their 1-0 home defeat by Swindon Town.
He said: “We got things right tactically after half-time after we changed one or two things to get us on the front foot.
“The frustrating thing was that we couldn’t score although we played a lot better. We started sluggishly and I think that would have been down to 15 days without a game.
“However, Swindon were a good side with some very good players and we have told our lads that.
“We are already looking towards Boxing Day at Salford and although we got nothing from this game we have to look at the positives from the second-half.”
Wild was full of praise for the Barrow ground-staff and the club volunteers who got the pitch playable – even though it ended in defeat.
“I looked at it around 9am and I didn’t think there was any chance but the staff and our volunteers worked so hard to make it playable for the referee’s second inspection.
“That was a wonderful effort on their parts and they deserve a lot of praise.”
