Child injured after smashed glass left at playpark

A girl was injured after glass was left on play equipment at a park in Aspatria.

The girl, who needed butterfly stitches, was at St Mungo’s Park last Sunday.

Police said it had been reported that glass bottles were smashed on the floor of the play park and placed on the equipment. The girl suffered injuries requiring butterfly stitches.

Cumbria police said officers will be patrolling the area over the weekend, visiting local schools and will be working with the local council.
