Cumbrian volunteer groups have been called in to help with the search for missing Nicola Bulley.
The 45-year-old mum went missing while she was walking alongside the river in St Michael’s on Wye in Lancashire.
Ms Bulley disappeared while walking her springer spaniel, Willow, after dropping off her two daughters, aged six and nine, at school.
Her disappearance has sparked national interest.
Lancashire Police believe she fell into the water and have carried out extensive searches – calling in experts from across the country.
These include Cumbrian groups like West Cumbria Search and Rescue, plus mountain rescue teams, specialist dog units and others.
West Cumbria Search and Rescue was set up five years ago. Run by a group of volunteers, Lancashire Police asked it to help with drone searches and swift water rescue capabilities.
The group is normally called out by Cumbria police to help with missing person searches in the county.
A spokesman said: “We are volunteers and we just want to help people and the families of missing people. We are one of several agencies involved in the search for Nicola Bulley.”
