Barrow’s recent run of good results ended at Harrogate Town, a side who were winning for the first time in eight home games.
It finished 1-0 as second half substitute Matty Daly scored the only goal of the game in the 74th minute.
Coming back from injury it was his first goal since November and seventh of the season and was really welcome as it lifted Harrogate seven points above the drop zone.
The breakthrough goal came from Josh Falkingham’s quickly taken free-kick which was helped on by Jack Muldoon and Daly’s snap shot from 15 yards was only helped into the roof of the net by Bluebirds keeper Paul Farman.
Harrogate had gone closest in the first-half, which had been fairly even, when Levi Sutton rattled the crossbar from the edge of the area.
Barrow’s best chance came three minutes before Daly’s goal. Josh Kay forced Mark Oxley into a near-post save and when the ball rebounded to Billy Waters he somehow managed to sky the ball over the top from right in front.
Oxley had also done well to keep out a free-kick from Ben Whitfield and the same player missed-out when he got his head on a far post cross from Robbie Gotts.
Barrow now sit tenth in the League seven points behind Salford who are in the final play-off position.
