Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson had no arguments with the 1-0 defeat at Gillingham.
Simpson felt it was the team’s worst performance of the season and they got what that deserved – nothing!
“This was not the group that has done so well this season. We showed nothing, we didn’t pass the ball properly in all areas of the field and offered no threat.
“Did I pick the wrong team? Were the players not good enough? We haven’t done ourselves justice and that’s the biggest disappointment.
“There are gonna be more twists and turns before the end of the season but the bottom line is if you do your own job it takes care of itself. We didn’t do that against a Gillingham side who are certainly the form team of the last three months.
“We are going to have to dust ourselves down and make sure we are ready and prepared for the next game,” said the manager.
Carlisle are currently fourth in the table, a point behind Stevenage in the last play-off place but the Cumbrians have played a game more.
The Blues have another long trip to leaders Leyton Orient on Saturday while Stevenage visit second-placed Northampton as the top four all meet up.
