Low Place didn’t have the best weather conditions when the HTA moved back to fell terrain – but the drizzle certainly helped Denise Bland’s team.

She returned to winning ways with an involvement in four of the five hounds who led in their respective trails.

The first race for seniors was a repeat of the other night with Denise and Jenny Bland’s and Alan Little’s Huntsman’s Quantum taking the honours from Stephen Riley and Isla Hetherington’s Cautious, who has notched up four minor tickets in the first ten days of the Championship season.

The senior maidens was won by Missriff, owned by Glenis and Raymond Farren, but is on holiday at the moment and is being kennelled by Denise.

Missriff didn’t have much running last year but seems to have gained a new lease of life in Patterdale.

She came home in front from Duncan, Amy and Oliver Chisholm’s Fly Me To The Moon, followed by Ian Fleet and Jayne Petersen’s Chapel Stile in third.

The puppy race saw the local Miterdale team only finish third with Miterdale Diamond who is the current leader in the Championship.

It was another of Denise Bland’s, Huntsman’s Sunshine, who led them home from Fidget, owned by Anna and Kerry Lindsay who were members of the Border Association and have transferred over to the HTA.

The puppy maiden was won by another of Denise’s youngsters, Huntsman’s Sparkle who raced home well to beat Kinniside Miracle, another hound on it’s holidays being kenneled at Low Place.

The final race of the day was the open restricted where two veterans came on the finish before Hawkswood, owned by Denis Pear and Jackie Gill got the better of Roy Laidler’s Cuckoo Lane.
