The Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL has a full programme this weekend – with games split between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
No doubt about the stand-out game, that’s the Saturday clash between Cockermouth Titans and Wath Brow A at Highfield.
Wath Brow have started impressively, already through to the EB Lamb Amateur Cup final and unbeaten in the League. Early predictions suggest that they could be the main rivals to champions Distington.
But the Titans have put together a decent squad this season and are keen to make up for having to finish last season’s campaign early.
They showed their potential with a good 28-22 win at Lowca last week in their first competitive game of the season.
Wath Brow will start favourites but Cockermouth might run them closer than some might think.
Lowca have a tough ask ahead of them in their efforts to make up for that home defeat to Cockermouth as they travel to Distington, 60-4 winners at Seaton A.
The three games on Friday night involve five A teams. The only exception is Glasson Rangers who make the trip to play Hensingham A.
Glasson played their part in an exciting town derby with Maryport in their first competitive game before going under 32-27 and will hope to get their first table points on the board.
Kells A collected their first win at the expense of Egremont A (26-12) and tomorrow night have a home fixture with Ellenborough Rangers A who did not have a game last week-end.
The other Friday fixture sees Egremont Rangers A hosting Seaton Rangers A.
Clubs are reminded that there is a league meeting at Kells on Monday night starting at 7pm.
