It’s been a busy week for Workington Reds with a clutch of players re-signing for the promoted club.

The squad is now up to nine with confirmation that crowd favourites Scott Allison and Brad Hubbold have pledged their immediate future to the Borough Park club.

Allison, 32, who has scored more goals for Workington than anybody else in almost 100 years, will be embarking on his 11th season at Borough Park.

He said: “I’m delighted to commit to Reds for another season. I can’t wait for this group of players to test itself at this higher level and continue to work towards our goals.

“We will be a huge test for any team at this level and I’m looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.”

Hubbold, who will celebrate his 30th birthday tomorrow, returned to Borough Park midway through the season after initially joining Lancaster City last summer.

He said: “I’m glad to be signing from the beginning this season, after achieving promotion with a great group of lads. I’m excited to get going again and stay injury free, helping the team push on and achieve more great things this next  season.”

Reds have now re-signed skipper Conor Tinnion, Dan Wordsworth, Lewis Reilly, Dav Symington, Keelan Leslie, Ceiran Casson, Greg McCarragher, Scott Allison and Brad Hubbold.

Ruben Jerome and Charlie Birch have been confirmed as departures from the promotion-winning squad.
