A week of music is on its way to Barrow later this year – featuring a family rave, Scouting for Girls and The Old Time Sailors.
Now in its third year, #Barrowmusic3 will take place from September 29 to October 2 at venues across the town centre with a mix of musical performances and workshops.
An integral part of Barrow Music is the work with local schools and people interested in a career in the creative industries. This year will include Sing 23 by local schoolchildren, an Education Music Conference for young people, which will inspire local youngsters to consider a career or hobby in the creative industries sector, workshops and guest performances by partners.
A full programme of music will be on offer, in some well-known venues in the town and some not always associated with live performance. Look out for pop up performances during the weekend.
The Forum will be playing host to the Old Time Sailors, who are bringing their flashmob musical show to Barrow.
They take the audience back in time through an unforgettable trip to the 19th century, with a crew of 17 musicians playing over 30 songs and tunes.

Scouting for Girls will make a return to Barrow, performing all of their hits including She’s So Lovely, Elvis Ain’t Dead, Heartbeat and This Ain’t A Love Song, plus some new music.
The programme also includes:
- Friday 29 September – Paul Young – Behind the Lens
- Saturday 30 September – Tea dance with Just in Time Band
- Saturday 30 September – Lindisfarne
- Sunday 1 October – Silver Sunday
- Thursday 5 October – Barrowmusic conference
