Cumbria ended Northumberland’s unbeaten run in the NCCA 50-Overs Trophy competition when they won at Allendale by 74 runs.
After being put in to bat Cumbria were bowled-out for 244 in the final over, but then dismissed their hosts for 170 in 32.5 overs. It was Cumbria’s third win in as many matches, the same as Northumberland who have played all four games.
An opening stand of 74 between Freddie Fallows (78) and Sam Dutton (20) got Cumbria away well. Fallows only faced 49 deliveries, hitting 15 fours and a six.

Although they slipped to 98-3 following early dismissals for Ben Walkden and Nathan Waterston there were runs down the order from Chris Wright (31), skipper Michael Slack (25) and Sam Sharp (19no).

Oliver McGee (3-31) and Callum Fletcher (3-38) were the most successful Northumberland bowlers.
A stand of 54 for the third wicket was the biggest obstacle to a Cumbrian victory when Northumberland had slipped to 28-2.

But when their free-scoring skipper Stuart Poynter was caught by Sam Dutton off Matthew Siddall for ten the hosts were struggling at 93-4 and never recovered.
Bobby Green (35), Jack Jessop (29) and Seb Allison (25) did their bit but Cumbria were will in control of the situation. Siddall finished with 5-58 and fellow spinner Nico Watt finished off the innings with the fifth ball of his only over.
Cumbria are in pole position to win the group now as they finish off at home to Lincolnshire next week with the game being played at Keswick. They need a point to win the group.
