Harraby Catholic Club Veterans are looking for an unprecedented seventh successive County Cup final win tomorrow.
In an all-Carlisle final they will take on Northbank in the County Veterans final at Workington’s newly-named Fibrus Community Stadium – previously Derwent Park.
Frizington White Star Veterans were the last team to win the competition in 2014 before Harraby Catholic Club’s dominance in the competition, with the Carlisle based team lifting the trophy after wins against Hall Park Hotel, Creighton Rangers, Carlisle City, Wheatsheaf Wetheral, Cleator Moor Celtic and last season Carlisle City Veterans.
Although a new team in name, Northbank were originally formed in 2013 under the name of Howard Rangers.
Northbank Veterans finished fifth in the Cumbria Veterans League (North and East Division) with seven wins and three defeats, while Harraby Catholic Club were crowned Champions.
Kick-off on Friday is 7pm and although admission is free, donations will be gratefully received for the British Heart Foundation, with which Cumberland FA has recently announced a partnership.
West Cumbrian Tommy Linford will take charge as referee and is assisted by Kevin Young and Mark Kilgour with Graham Turner as fourth official.
Cumberland FA have offered their thanks to hosts Workington Town Rugby League Club in the build-up to the final and for its continued support.
Thanks to the County FA’s partnership with Veo Camera, the final will be recorded with teams able to access the analysis tools following the fixture.
If it goes to penalties, the action will be streamed live on the FA’s Facebook page.
