Barrow have terminated the contract of striker Richie Bennett after he spent the second half of last season out on loan.
Bennett was unable to replicate his form in the first spell he had at Holker Street when he notched 15 goals in 43 games in the 2016/2017 season.
Unfortunately, the striker’s second spell at the club was ravaged by injuries and the 32-year-old only made 13 League Two appearances.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Scunthorpe United in the National League.
Oldham-born Bennett left Barrow for Carlisle and in two years at Brunton Park netted 10 goals in 59 games, during which time he went out on loan to Morecambe.
He subsequently played at Port Vale, Stockport and Hartlepool on loan before returning to Barrow.
A Barrow spokesman said: “The club would like to place on record our thanks to Richie for all his efforts during both spells with the club, and we wish him the very best for the future.”
