The Red Arrows will perform a fly-past at the Whitehaven Alive festival this weekend.

Whitehaven Alive 2023 will be the town’s biggest festival in years, with over 70 stalls on the harbour including local producers, artisan brands, food from all over the world and continental traders and a main stage with artists including Tinie Tempah, Sophie Ellis Bextor and The Vaccines headlining.

The Red Arrows are scheduled to fly over Whitehaven Harbour at 2.40 pm on Saturday, September 9.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, is one of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams.

Based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, the Red Arrows had flown almost 5,000 displays in 57 countries.

Oliver Hodgson founder and executive director, said: “The perfect addition to our festival weekend, it’s going to create a fantastic atmosphere, we cannot wait to see the Red Arrows make an appearance on Saturday.

“We are on day four of our site build and everything is going to plan, the harbour looks excellent with something for everyone to enjoy! We would advise people travelling to the festival to set off earlier than usual as we are expecting big crowds.

“We are operating a park-and-ride service from Westlakes Science Park every day of the festival thanks to our friends at BEC.”

The Red Arrows are also due to fly over Carlisle on Sunday. They are scheduled to fly past Solway Aviation Museum on Sunday September 10 at 11.12am, weather permitting.
