Last night saw the first of the two Fellside fixtures promoted by the Carlisle and Penrith Area.
The evening got underway with the senior hounds and there was a really good slip of 23.
After her impressive win on Tuesday night Foxparke Beep Beep was the favourite in the bookies ring but Winterfell was also running to see if he could extend his lead in the championship title race.
As they came down off the fell it was a good race between the favourite Foxparke Beep Beep and Strawberry Mick who is also in good form at the moment having finished second behind her on Tuesday at Bridekirk.
As the hounds came to the finishing line Strawberry Mick looked the stronger hound and won nicely from Foxparke Beep Beep.
Lady Million, for Brian and Joy Lister, finished well in third place followed home by Alan Blacklock’s Busy Again making it two tickets for her also this week as she seems to be coming back into form.
Winterfell finished in fifth place followed by kennel mate Ron.
The win for Strawberry Mick, who was priced at 3/1 by the bookies, was his fifth of the season taking him sixth in the championship table just behind Foxparke Beep Beep.
Next to slip were the open pups with a reasonable field of 15 hounds as Fellside seems to be a fixture where most of the top hounds compete against each other.

Rodney Raider was sent off favourite but he had some stiff competition from Embrace, Glamorous Ava and Artist to mention a few.
As they dropped down the fell towards the finish Embrace was running alongside Rodney Raider and was impressive as they dropped down.
Towards the finish Embrace dug deep and finished very well to beat Rodney Raider at odds of 2/1.
The win for Andrew and Joel Bulman, Laura Steele and Ian Rumney takes their hound to 13 wins and seven points behind Rodney Raider so still all to play for with six weeks left in the season.
Glamorous Ava finished well in third place for James and Ava McClelland, with Foxparke Fair Lady taking fourth for the Foxparke Team.
Bill Mellon and co’s Artist was fifth and the much improved Hey Mac took sixth place for Neil and Gillian Brown. The trip to Ireland seems to have invigorated the little hound who appears much keener to finish and has recently had a number of tickets.
The last race of the night was the open maidens with again a reasonable slip of 19 hounds.
As they dropped in it was Paul Airey and Joanne Hodgson’s Artisan who was in front. She’s a hound which had been unlucky early on in the season with injuries but who has been knocking on the door these last few weeks with tickets.
As they approached the line she managed to hang on for the win and was followed home by Foxparke Whoosh who seems happy to take second place.

He was followed home by David Clifford’s Eden Romina and then the Foxparke team bagged the last three tickets with Foxparke Dealer, Foxparke Danny Elliot and Foxparke Rumour. The kennel is really running well at the moment.
The second place for Foxparke Whoosh moves him up in the open maiden table to second place but David Clifford’s hound Eden Romia continues to gather points to extend her lead to 43 points.
Action moves to the Borders again at the weekend with the traditional Teviot Head Show which hosts a four card meeting with the first trail slipping at 1pm.
On Sunday the action moves to Buttermere for the Michael Renney Memorial Trails with another four card meeting taking place and the first trail slips at 1pm.
There will also be a film crew from Channel Five at the trails on Sunday as they are planning to make a documentary regarding the traditional Lakeland sports.
