A man had to have emergency surgery after an assault in Barrow on Tuesday.
It happened at 9.50pm at the entrance door to the Asda supermarket on Walney Road.
The 40-year-old victim was taken to hospital and received emergency surgery for a severe fracture to the leg as a result.
A 35-year-old man, from the Barrow area, was arrested. He has since been released from custody on bail while investigations continue.
