A man has been arrested after a cannabis farm was found on Whitehaven’s main shopping street.
The arrest was made in the early hours today, September 19, after police entered the property on King Street and seized 400 plants.
Officers entered via the next door Post Office, which resulted in the branch having to close for today, but it will reopen tomorrow.
Police are still at the scene, carrying out enquiries.
The 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
It was part of Operation Alliance – Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response against serious and organised crime.
