Carlisle City have added to their squad by signing the former Workington Reds player Keelan Leslie, who left the Borough Park club two weeks ago.
Leslie, a midfielder as a youth player at Carlisle United, has played most of his football for Reds at left back although he could never quite nail down a regular place.
He first joined Reds on loan from Carlisle and after his release from Brunton Park signed for Workington on a permanent basis.
City boss Jim Nichols has been looking to augment his squad after a rare occurrence on Saturday when they couldn’t field the full 16 for the trip to Bishop Auckland.
Nichols said: “It hasn’t happened much in my time at the club so I wanted to bring in some new lads, not just for numbers, but to provide competition for places.
“I was pleased with Jason Butterworth’s contribution on Saturday. He looked lively when he came on as a sub and I’m really pleased to have signed Keelan, a very good, young player.”
