
An eight-month-old puppy was rescued by firefighters from a West Cumbrian river.
Firefighters from Cockermouth, Workington and Whitehaven were called out to the River Cocker yesterday in Cockermouth.
They had to use ropes to abseil to the dog and swift water rescue equipment.
Cockermouth Fire Station said: “A happy ending for this very cute but cold eight-month-old little dog, safely rescued.”
