Whitehaven Miners Social will get the opportunity to play on Brunton Park next month.

Their semi-final against Carlisle United in the Fred Conway County Cup has been confirmed for Tuesday, March 5 at the League One ground.

The county league side have proved one of the surprise packages in this season’s competition, with their best performance so far a win over town rivals Whitehaven Amateurs, who play in the West Lancashire League.

The holders Workington Reds are awaiting tomorrow night’s delayed quarter final tie to find out their opponents.

Windscale of the Wearside League are taking on Maryport Athletic from the County League at the Falcon Complex in Egremont.

No date has been confirmed for the semi-final but ideally the Reds would like to play on Saturday, March 16 when they now have a free date because of Marske United’s exit from the Northern Premier League.

Either Windscale or Maryport Athletic will have home advantage in the semi-final.
