Charnock Richard are still on course to deny Kendal Town a play-off place in the North West Counties Premier Division.
Asked to play four matches in six days to complete their programme they need to win them all to pip Kendal by a point and take their place in the play-offs.
Last night’s 2-0 win at Barnoldswick kept them on course for a late smash and grab.
They travel to Colne on Thursday and then play Pilkington at Burscough’s ground on Saturday.
Meanwhile Kendal can only sit and wait to see whether they will be going to Wythenshawe Town on Saturday for the play-off – or still waiting for Charnock Richard’s final game.
Winning four game in six days at the end of a long season would be a remarkable effort by any part time team, but really Kendal will still be kicking themselves over just managing a draw on Saturday at Burscough in their final game.
Kendal manager Jimmy Marshall said: “We will train as normal this week as if we are preparing for a game on Saturday.
“If Charnock Richard go and win all four then we would have to take our hat off to them and say well done – and then reflect and rue the points that got away.”
