Family Action held a special event in Carlisle to celebrate the prestigious Investing in Volunteers accreditation.

Family Action is a national charity dedicated to supporting thousands of families in Cumbria and across the country through change, challenge, and crisis, by providing a wide range of practical, emotional and financial support.

The Investing in Volunteers accreditation is a national quality standard for excellence in volunteer management.

Family Action’s accreditation for its work with volunteers in Carlisle highlights the commitment to providing an exceptional volunteer experience for all those who give their time to support families.

To celebrate this achievement and to honour the invaluable contributions of its volunteers, Family Action held a special event at People First in Carlisle.

The event was a thank you to the charity’s volunteers, as well as a recognition of the hard work and dedication of all the volunteer and engagement workers.

Emma Scott, operational manager at Family Action, expressed her gratitude towards the volunteers.

She said: “Our volunteers play a crucial role in the work we do, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication and passion. This event is a small token of our appreciation for their role in supporting the families we work with.”

The event provided an opportunity for volunteers and their immediate families to come together and celebrate the impact of their work. Attendees gained insight into the importance of volunteers and the difference that their efforts make in the community.

Volunteer Natalie Armstrong said: “Thank for a lovely evening. It is nice to volunteer somewhere that really values what volunteers do and to feel appreciated It was lovely to meet some of the other volunteers and hear about what they do within Family Action.”

Volunteer Jade Churchill added: “I thought the event was super lovely and the atmosphere was great! It made it all really special to get an award for what we are doing.”

Emma said: “The process of achieving the accreditation was a collaborative effort, with volunteers actively participating and sharing their experiences.

“This accreditation demonstrates Family Action’s commitment to equipping, supporting, and empowering our volunteers to deliver their work effectively and we are grateful for the ongoing dedication and commitment of all our volunteers.”
