Cumbrian rugby union clubs will have the opportunity to discuss ways of taking the game forward in the county at a club’s meeting next week.
Cumbria Crack recently outlined the concerns of several senior figures in the county at the way the game needed to be refreshed.
Brian Mitchelhill, chairman of the Cumbria Competition Committee, thanked those who had made a contribution to the online and email dialogues over recent weeks.
He said: “The thoughts and interest are most welcome and to move forward with this matter it has always been the intention that a meeting would be called to assess all of the options available to Cumbria 1 teams.”
The meeting has been arranged for 7pm on Wednesday May 1 at Windermere RUFC.
He added: “All clubs from Cumbria are invited to attend and therefore to keep numbers manageable I would ask that only two representatives from each club come along.
“I look forward to a good attendance and to seeing you at the meeting next Wednesday.”
The current season is drawing to a close and there’s only one game in the county this weekend – Kendal 2nds v Rochdale 2nds with Simon Barker the man in the middle.
But both Penrith Under-18s and Kirkby Lonsdale Under-17s are involved in out-of-county League finals on Sunday.
