Kendal Town’s appeal against a lateral move to the Northern League will be heard next week.
That could have dire consequences for the club, with regards to player recruitment and travel costs, and they were quick to express their dismay.
They appealed the decision and the hearing will be held online on Wednesday and will start at 2pm.
With it being conducted online, it will save Kendal the issues involved over a trip to Wembley for the hearing.
Chairman Michael O’Neill said he was optimistic and expected a fair hearing of the club’s appeal which would see them play in the Northern League next season if it’s not successful.
He said: “We have appealed on the basis that the decision was unreasonable and we have got six key points that we are going after that we feel prove that four teams could have been moved with lesser impact than Kendal Town FC.
“I expect to know within 24 hours of our appeal whether we have been successful or not.”
Kendal Town just missed out on a play-off spot in the North West Counties Premier Division last season.
