Bobby Carroll has signed for North West Counties Premier Division side Bury FC – the third former Workington player to join the Gigg Lane side this summer.
Carroll, 22, spent the last two seasons with the Reds, and he will join-up with Ruben Jerome and Iyrwah Gooden who were announced as signing for Bury last week.
Doncaster-born Carroll started out at Everton in 2018, before moving to Chorley playing in the National League North.
He was signed for Reds by Danny Grainger and in his first season won the Young Player of the Year award.
Unfortunately last season was spoiled for Carroll by a series of injuries but he was still highly regarded by his manager, and the Workington fans.
In describing Carroll to the Bury supporters manager Dave McNabb said: “Bobby is a central midfielder who is superb on the ball and comfortable receiving the ball in any situation.
“He is always looking to play forward and start attacks. He has a great engine and a brilliant range of passing. He reads the game unbelievably well and has massive potential to really push us on.”
