
A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Carlisle.
Police received a report at around 8:05am today, Monday June 10, that a man was suffering from stab wounds.
Officers attended and also found a woman and primary school aged girl with stab wounds.
The woman and the girl were airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, with what police described as serious injuries.
At 4.50pm today, police said A 55-year-old man has been arrested and is in police custody.
A 53-year-old woman has been arrested and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
They added the injured girl remains in hospital in stable condition.
Cumbria police said: “There continues to be no further risk to the public and they should expect to see a continue police presence in the area while officers carry out investigations.”
