
West Cumbria Amalgamation birds, due to be basketed tomorrow for Weymouth, will be delayed 24 hours.
The weather forecast for Saturday is poor and the Amalgamation committee will look again at the forecast tomorrow lunchtime before deciding on what day they will race.
Old bird racing has generally taken place this year on the scheduled Saturday but there have been cases when it has been delayed 24 hours. Indeed that was the decision on the first scheduled race of the season from Garstang.
This is the longest old bird inland race left in the programme, although there is a come-back race from Stratfor-on-Avon in a fortnight.
There’s a tough but exciting programme for the long distance fanciers starting with Guernsey on June 22 and again on July 5.
The season ends with a return to racing from France – before the tests await for a return to Channel racing from France.
The races are from Grevillers, July 12 and Nort-Sur-Erdre, July 26.
