It’s D-Day for Kendal Town with their appeal to the FA over their lateral move next season to the Northern League.
The appeal is being conducted on-line, saving Kendal the travel to Wembley to put their case.
It will be heard at 2pm this afternoon and chairman Michael O’Neill says he expects to hear within 14 hours the FA’s decision.
Their appeal is based on six key points where they believe four other clubs could have been moved laterally with less effect, rather than Kendal.
The Mintcakes are in the North West Counties Premier Division and just missed out on a play-off spot.
Manager Jimmy Marshall and his staff have committed to stay with the club, whatever the outcome of today’s appeal.
fter the hearing the Kendal Town club issued the following statement: “We would like to express our thanks to the panel and the attending FA representatives for what was a smooth and transparent process.
“We await the panel’s decision and will inform our volunteers, players, sponsors and fans at the earliest opportunity.”
Kendal have also confirmed the opposition for the available date in their pre-season programme – Morecambe will send a side to Parkside Road on Saturday, July 6.
