
Four Cumbrian restaurants have been named among the best in the UK.
The UK National Restaurant Awards is an influential list of the UK’s top 100 places to dine in 2024.
L’Enclume in Cartmel comes in at 20, Heft at High Newton is at 57, The Cedar Tree at Farlam Hall, near Brampton, at 65 and Forest Side at Grasmere 75.
Launched in 2007, the National Restaurant Awards celebrate the brilliance and vibrancy of the UK’s dining scene, and reward the very best chefs, front-of-house staff, and restaurants the country has to offer, from Michelin-starred dining rooms to casual neighbourhood restaurants and gastropubs and reward the very best chefs, front of house staff and restaurants the country has to offer.
The list of the 100 best restaurants in the UK is voted for by 200 industry experts from across the UK, including chefs, restaurateurs, critics, and food writers.
Heft also found out this week that it had been included among the Top 30 new must-dine at European restaurants, ranking at 25 out of 30, as a new entrant in the annual Opinionated About Dining European restaurant list.
Heft’s co-owners Kevin and Nicola Tickle said: “Being recognised by some of the most discerning foodies there are, is a little bit overwhelming, especially when your restaurant features in two hugely significant industry listings.
