Tate Zischke, the young Australian Workington Comets rider, has survived a bad crash in Poland.
Zischke is nursing a very sore and tender back after a collision riding in a Polish Under-24s Ekstraliga match.
He was riding for Leszno against Wroclaw when he was taken out into the fence by an opponent and a careering bike hit him in the back.
The 18-year-old Zischke was taken to hospital but released, although he was examined again this morning before being given the all clear.

Comets team manager James Denham said: “He’s still in Poland after being given the all-clear but must be doubtful for the weekend and he’s been told he needs plenty of rest.”
The Comets are due to ride at home to Plymouth on Saturday at Northside (3pm) and would bring in a guest for Zischke.
“I’ve one in mind but we will see how things are tomorrow,” said Denham.
