Two youngsters from the Wath Brow Hornets club have been selected for the England Community Lions’ tour to France next month.

Matty Creasey and Tom Clarke will be in the Lions squad which flies out to France on July 24.

Sponsorship for the Hornets’ duo’s trip across the channel has been provided by Morson Projects.

Morson Projects have been involved with the Wath Brow club and its youth development programme for several years now.

Ian Woodburn handed over £2,200 to the club president John Curwen to help fund Matty and Tom’s tour.

John said: “On behalf of our club I would just like to thank Morson Projects for all of their support, for this particular tour, and over a number of years.”

The squad is set to meet in Manchester on July 23 and fly out the next day with the first game on Friday July 26.

The Lions will play two Test matches against the French, with the second on Monday July 29.

Tom plays either centre or second-row while Matty can operate at prop or loose-forward.
