Whitehaven scored 30 unanswered points in the second-half to see off Dewsbury Rams 38-12 at the Ortus REC.
The bottom-of-the-table side had led 12-8 at the break but a fine performance in the second-half saw Jonty Gorley’s side come back to win with plenty in hand.
Haven gave debuts to new loanees – Gideon Boafo starting on the wing and Noah High was among the four substitutes.
Boafo didn’t have to wait long for his first try in Haven colours. Dewsbury got in a mix-up dealing with a high bomb and Boafo gratefully accepted the opportunity to collect the loose ball and touchdown.

When Boafoa went over again on 18 minutes to double the Haven lead it looked too easy for the Broncos loanee, but that was it until half-time from the hosts as Dewsbury came back to lead at the break.
On 27 minutes the Rams were on the score-sheet when a nice pass from Kieran Rush put Jack Billington in for his fourth try of the season which Turner converted.
Two minutes off the half-time hooter Curtis Davies was able to wriggle over from short range and Turner’s conversion sent them in at the break 12-8 to the good.

Whitehaven were back in front after 47 minutes when Guy Graham blasted over from close in and Jake Carter added the extras.
Seven minutes later it was the turn of Cumbrian loanee Noah High from Warrington to go over under the posts and again Carter converted.

At 20-12 it was still anyone’s game but on the hour Haven scored again through Edene Gebbie, with a conversion by Carter and there was only going to be one winner now.
High scored his second and Ryan King got over before the end with Carter converting and an excellent performance had yielded two valuable points.
