Workington Town were beaten again, losing 28-4 at home to League One leaders Oldham.
But the injury-hit Town side could take positives from the way they took on the hot favourites to land the title at the end of the season.
Oldham had been expected to win easily on their second visit to the Fibrus Community Stadium but Town simply refused to be rolled over by their visitors.
It was a really committed performance by Town and they restricted their visitors to an 8-0 half-time lead with two unconverted tries by Ben O’Keefe (18) and Danny Craven (36).
It stayed that way until the 55th minute when some sharp passing opened up the home defence for Nathan Roebuck to score a third unconverted try.

The fourth try came on 63 minutes when a break by Jack Johnson was finished-off by Logan Astley and this time Cian Tyrer added the conversion.
It looked as though the floodgates had opened because two minutes later O’Keefe put Tyrer in for another unconverted try.

Then on 70 minutes O’Keefe scored his second and Tyrer added the extras.
But Town refused to budge any further and deservedly got their consolation try on 77 minutes when Richard Lepori went over in the corner but Ciaran Walker couldn’t convert from the touchline.

It was a defeat, which wasn’t unexpected, but Town fought hard and came out of the contest with plenty of positives and plaudits.
