Belle Vue star and local hero Dan Bewley will head the field when the restaging of the Ben Fund Bonanza takes place at Workington’s GT Tyres Arena on Sunday July 14 (3pm).

Bewley has agreed to fit the meeting into his busy international schedule, which is expected to see him representing Great Britain in the FIM Speedway of Nations Final in Manchester the previous evening.

Three former winners have been declared for the fundraising meeting – Danny King, Ben Barker and current Comets captain Craig Cook – whilst others to confirm their appearance are Simon Lambert, Justin Sedgmen, Paul Starke, Norick Blodorn, Kyle Howarth and Lewis Kerr.

SRBF chairman Paul Ackroyd said: “We are delighted that Dan is in a position to race in the meeting and also that quite a few of the riders who were in the original field can return.

“We are in discussions with other good quality riders to complete the field.”

Bewley had previously donated his Great Britain race suit from 2023, and this will be auctioned on the day of the meeting after the supporter who won it kindly re-donated it.

There are a number of opportunities available for tyre, fuel, rider sponsorship and mascots attached to each competitor.
