It was another day of mixed fortunes for Wath Brow’s youth teams as they took on Maryport at both Under-14s and Under-16s age groups.
The Brow 14s went down 36-10 to a big and strong Maryport side after playing catch-up for most of the time.
Olson Sharp scored two tries for Wath Brow while Kyron McDonald also crossed and landed a conversion.
Maryport are very proud of their Under-14s team which has developed well and in Lucas Smiles they have one of the most promising players at that age in the county.
Smiles scored four tries while Olly Cartwright and Herbert Glaister also crossed and there were six goals from Liam Chilton.
Wath Brow gained their revenge at Under-16s level where they were too strong in every department, although the spirited Maryport side never gave up even though it finished 46-0.
Evan Sherwen (2), Niall Butterworth (2), Henley Davidson, Conrad Dockwray, Logan Fowler and Hayden Meagan scored the Wath Brown tries with Billy Joe Towers kicking seven goals.
