Barrow Raiders went down 22-2 at Batley Bulldogs to stay in relegation trouble, next to bottom of the Championship.
It was a disappointing finish after a very tight first half in which the Bulldogs held a slender 4-2 lead.
But Batley claimed the victory as they scored 20 unanswered points in the second-half.
For Barrow it was the time to reflect on their first-half performance when they did not take the opportunities to score.
They looked good in possession but simply lacked the creativity to open up a solid Batley defence.
Barrow actually scored in the 7th minute when Ryan Shaw put over a penalty but getting over the home whitewash continued to elude them.
On 16 minutes however the Bulldogs crossed for an unconverted try, throwing the ball wide for Joe Biurton to cross.
Barrow had chances to make something of their pressure after that but were unable to unlock the Bulldogs rearguard.
More than once they seemed to take the wrong option and on several occasions coughed up possession.
With no further points scored it meant that Batley were playing downhill in the second half, which often proves fruitful.
So it proved after 47 minutes when patient build-up created space on the left edge for Kieran Buchanan to go through a gap and score. Josh Woods converted.
The crucial try came on 72 minutes when Barrow were on the attack but Ryan Johynston was taken out late. Nothing was given and from the spilled ball Luke Hooley went the full length to score and Woods converted.
To add insult to injury Johnston had to retire and Barrow had to play out the last eight minutes with just 12 men.
Two minutes from the end Batley worked an opening for Johnny Mitsias and the Greek international scored his first try in English rugby league and Woods converted.
