
West Cumbrian pigeons – old and young – have been racing today after early liberations.
The 40 Cumbria Combine birds with the Scottish National at Nort-sur-Erdre in France were let go at 7.30am in a light east wind.
The leaders hopefully will be home later today while young birds with the two local organisations were quickly home.
The Derwent Valley Federation liberated at 8.30am at Garstang in a light south wind and the leaders were back into Workington around 10am.
West Cumberland Federation birds, liberated half an hour later from Garstang, were quicker and the leaders were back in Cleator Moor before 10am.
