Workington have won high praise from Prescot Cables manager Steven Daley after their NP Premier Division game on Tuesday.
Reds recorded their first win of the season when goals from Kaedyn Kamara and Steven Rigg gave them a 2-0 victory.
Daley admitted that his side were outworked by Workington who had impressed him throughout.
The Cables boss was disappointed at the result, but credited the work-rate of the Reds who climbed to 10th in the table with the win.
Speaking after the game, he said: “I was impressed with Workington. They were very good, very organised and hard-working.
“We had a 20-minute spell where we controlled the game. They scored a really good goal and then we just couldn’t get back into it. They are a very good team and their fitness showed towards the end of the game.”
There was a new face on the bench for Reds at Prescot but one that has been seen around the club for a few weeks now.
He is Tyler Beck who has been signed by Mark Fell after impressing as a trialist during pre-season.
The 22-year-old centre-back made his debut from the bench in the 2-0 away win over Prescot Cables coming on as a substitute for the last 15 minutes.
Beck most recently played for Padiham in the NWCFL, where he helped the Storks make the play-offs last season.
He has also lined up for Macclesfield since his departure from Rochdale’s academy.
