Volunteer rescue teams were called out to a medical emergency on a West Cumbrian beach.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team was called to Drigg beach yesterday, Thursday September 5.
The team said: “The North West Ambulance Service provided immediate medical care to the casualty, while our team prepared for extraction, ensuring everything was in place as the tide approached.
“Additional support arrived swiftly, with Millom Coastguard Rescue Team joining forces with our team to assist in carrying the stretcher off the beach.
“We wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery. We’d also like to extend our thanks to the members of the public who acted quickly by calling for help and assisting at the scene before emergency services arrived.”
