Cleator Moor Celtic were undone by goals at the end of each half in their latest West Lancashire League game.
They lost 3-0 at Blackpool Wren Rovers to remain fourth bottom with eight points from nine games.
It was a first-half of few chances, and both sides had looked comfortable, until two minutes before the break when Aiden Burrows was free at the back post to head home a deep cross.
Although they had enough possession Celtic lacked quality in the final third and never seriously looked like getting level.
But at 1-0 there was always the chance, until the last five minutes when Wren Rovers made the game safe.
Tarren Moxon scored an 85th minute penalty and Ric Seear added the third goal three minutes later.
Celtic are on the road again next week when they travel to Poulton who crashed 6-0 at Fulwood Amateurs on Saturday and are tenth in the League only two points better than the Cumbrians.
It’s only August 31 since Celtic beat Poulton 2-1 at Cleator Moor so both teams know what to expect of the opposition.
