New plans have been lodged for the redevelopment of a petrol station in South Cumbria.
Motor Fuel Group has submitted a planning application to Westmorland and Furness Council for the redevelopment of Prizet North service station near Kendal on the A591.
Plans consist of extending the existing building to provide a food to go facility, 10 additional car parking spaces and three jet wash bays.
An electric vehicle charging hub is also proposed which will consist of eight electric vehicle charging bays.
Plans also include upgrading the existing fuel pumps and installing two high speed heavy goods vehicle pumps.
Previous redevelopment plans were approved in April and included the demolition of buildings as well as a rearrangement of the current layout.
The new application said: “The rationale behind this new application is that retaining the existing infrastructure is not only more practical but also aligns better with the applicant’s operational goals.
“By preserving the current set-up, the applicant can ensure a smoother transition and continuity of service which is critical for maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.”
Plans also include an increased provision of electric vehicle charging bays to address growing demand.
The application added: “Overall, it is considered that the proposed scheme offers a balance between retaining valuable existing assets and accommodating new, environmentally friendly technology.”
This planning application is undergoing public consultation.
