Last night saw a return to Moss Peteral with lovely weather for a change as the sun shone brightly.
The senior hounds were first to slip with a good field of 15 hounds.
Sportsman and Embrace were running, as both hounds had run well last time round with Sportsman getting the better of Embrace.
Rodney Raider was also back out running after finishing in fifth last week at Moss Peteral and at Fellside.
As they crossed the road at half way it looked as though it was Rodney Raider and Embrace leading.
Then as they came onto the finish Embrace, Rodney Raider and Sportsman were together as they neared the finishing line.
It was very close and after consulting the camera the verdict was given to Rodney Raider – a sign that he is back to his winning ways again.
The victory takes him level again with Huntsman’s Rebel although she remains at the top of the table due to her having had more second places than Rodney Raider.

It should prove to be an interesting last few weeks between the top three hounds in the championship table and if Mel gets back to running she could also add to the pressure on the top three.
Embrace was given second place and Sportsman ended up with third. Border Reign for Annabelle Connolly finished well to claim fourth place with the winning Dearham team of Joseph Abram and Nicola McMaster also taking fifth with their other hound Maverick. The last ticket went to Tom and Ryan Bell’s Ron.
Even though it was a warm night the hounds managed to knock-off nearly two minutes on the time of the race.
The open pups were next with a relatively small field of only six runners. Snowfell was the favourite to win out of the group and repeat his win from last week.
As they came onto the finish he won nicely for Caroline Clough and Barry Laidler. This was his 12th win of the season as he continues to chip away at Thornton in second place now only two points ahead of Snowfell.
Local hounds Millie’s Lass for George McGimpsey and Gillian and Millie Telford finished second with their other hound Millie’s Lad finishing in fourth place. Denise Bland and Co’s Huntsman’s Trouble finished in third place with Colin Satterthwaite’s Thorn Heart in fifth and Malcolm Holmes’ Senorita in sixth place.

The last race of the night was the puppy maidens with 11 runners and with none of them ever having won a race before it was a wide open contest.
Once back on the finish it was Malcolm Holmes’ other hound Senor who crossed the line in first place, followed by Eden Rosanna for David Clifford and Discover in third place for the Lindsay sisters Anna and Kerry.
All three hounds are siblings out of the same litter Sweet Harmony and Sir Robert, bred by Malcolm and his late wife Anne.
Paul Airey and Joanne Hodgson’s Meadow Lane finished in fourth place with Jenny Horn’s Spring Rhyme in fifth place with We Get By for Sarah White and Ashley Horn taking the last ticket of the night.
Again both hounds were from the same litter, this time Spring Rascal and General James.
Action moves back to Millstone Moor on Thursday with a three-race meeting and the first trail starting at 5pm.
