The Milbourne Arms has been named as the best pub in Carlisle.
For the second year in a row, it was awarded the accolade of City Pub of the Year by Solway CAMRA.
The Milbourne is owned by Dianne Irving and managed by Trevor Wall.
Trevor picked up the award from Solway CAMRA vice-chair Paul Claringbold at last week’s Carlisle Beer Festival.
Trevor said: “It is a great honour to have been given this award for two years in a row.
“We aim to provide our customers with well-conditioned, high quality real ales and, being a free house, we are able to source our ales from local suppliers such as the Carlisle Brewing Company & Great Corby Brewhouse as well as deliver some interesting and unusual beers from further afield
“We are constantly bringing new ales online and like to be ahead of the game when we can, often being the first pub in the city to stock a newly launched beer.”
Dianne added: “We are very grateful to our loyal customers who really appreciate the way that Trevor looks after his beer, and we are delighted that Solway CAMRA has recognised this with our latest award.”
