Holker Old Boys feature in match of the day in the North West Counties Division One North tomorrow.

They travel to Atherton LR having lost the lead in the table to their hosts because of a shock 2-1 home defeat to AFC Blackpool.

It meant Atherton took a three-point advantage at the top of the table although Holker still have a better goal difference.

In the NPL Premier Division, Workington will be desperate to get back on track after a series of setbacks in the League and FA Trophy.

They had put together a tidy winning sequence before a 3-2 defeat at Hyde; a 5-0 pasting at Stockton and a 3-2 defeat to Bamber Bridge in the FA Trophy.

Injuries certainly haven’t helped and manager Mark Fell will be hoping that Jamie Allen will be ready to face Worksop at Borough Park tomorrow.

Tom Stephenson has joined Jordan Little and Dav Symington on the longer-term injured list while Kaedyn Kamara is not quite recovered from a toe injury.

Reds have put seven days notice in on a player but that doesn’t expire until Sunday so it’s very much a make do situation for tomorrow.

Worksop are second in the table and after two damaging home defeats were back in winning form last week, beating FC United in the FA

In the Northern League Carlisle City kick off Cumbria’s interest in Division One tonight.

There’s no doubt that manager Dan Kirkup would have much preferred o be going tomorrow as City’s record on Saturdays is so much better that when they have to play away on other days of the week

Recently signed goalkeeper Jonny Jamieson missed the mid-week defeat at Newcastle Blue Star and is still out with an injury so Steven Townsley will deputise.

Jake Simpson, Mickael Slack and Keighran Kerr are also absentees but Kirkup will welcome back Jordan Irving and Jay Kelly.

Penrith had an excellent 1-0 last week at Whirtey Bay and manager Darren Edmondson will be looking for some consistency tomorrow when the Bonnyblues entertain Shildon.

Edmondson was hoping a free week would give valuable time for a couple of his injured players to be ready for a return.

Kendal Town enjoyed an excellent 4-0 home win over top five rivals Marske last week and will be looking to follow-up at Whickham who are third bottom.

But it won’t have gone un-noticed by manager Jimmy Marshall and his staff that when Kendal visited second-bottom Seaham Red Star they lost 4-3.

In the Wearside League Windscale continue their run of away fixtures with a trip to Dearham Corinthians in the Alan Hood Charity Cup.

It’s the trophy that Windscale won last year and are extra-keen to retain as they start their defence tomorrow.

Both our teams in the West Lancashire League need points as they occupy the bottom two places – particularly missing opportunities to make headway last week.

Whitehaven lost to bottom side Coppull Utd, which allowed them to leapfrog the west Cumbrians while Cleator Moor Celtic will feel they should have done better than the 3-3 draw with Haslingden St Mary’s.

Tomorrow Whitehaven travel to Haslingden St Mary’s while Celtic visit last season’s runners CMB who currently lie third.
