Storm Eowyn causes disruption on Cumbria Coast Railway

Power outages caused major disruption for the Cumbria Coast Railway from Barrow to Carlisle.

There was no power at several locations on the line and several trains were cancelled yesterday, with buses provided instead.

Due to severe weather earlier today, Monday January 27, some lines are blocked.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day today, Monday January 27.

Train services between Barrow-In-Furness and Carlisle will be running non stop between Kirkby-In-Furness and Green Road. Foxfield will not be served.

Road transport will run between Kirkby In Furness, Foxfield and Green Road in both directions.

The buses will be operated by RSZ and South Lakes coaches.

From Kirby In Furness calling at Foxfield and Green Road: 06.30, 07.15, 08.15, 09.50, 10:45, 11.45, 1230, 1340, 1450, 1610, 1640, 1740, 1830, 1940, 2040, 2135, 2235 Kirby In Furness, Foxfield then request stops to Millom.

From Green Road calling at Foxfield and Kirkby In Furness: 06.25, 07.25, 08.10, 08.35, 09.30, 11.30, 1230, then every hour to 1730 then 1800,1910, 2015, 2045, 2130, 2215 Green Road, Foxfield and then request stops to Barrow.

Journey times will be extended by 30 minutes while travelling by rail replacement transport.
