Workington Town has been forced to call off the first match of the season due to the weather.
The side was due to face Cornwall at the Fibrus Community Stadium on Sunday.
But it said after significant and intensive rain over the last few days, the pitch was currently waterlogged.
Cornwall were due to travel at 6am today, so Workington Town was instructed by the RFL to make the call on the match yesterday.
It added: “As the weather forecast is for severe wind and rain we, after communication with the RFL, have made the very reluctant decision to call off the game.”
A rearranged date is yet to be confirmed.
