Amanda Ingram and Paul Moran, directors of Frilu

A popular and expanding outdoor living and landscaping firm has been renamed.

Hamilton’s Outdoor Living, in Penrith, will now be known as Frilu.

The firm is also now offering bespoke design and builds for gardens and landscapes across the north of England.

From high-end outdoor kitchens and pergolas to paving and furniture, the directors of Frilu said they will continue working closely with landscapers, builders, architects and garden designers to supply premium materials from its base at Eden Business Park.

The business, led by Amanda Ingram and Paul Moran, will bring their existing brands – Hummingbird Garden Design and Bespoke Landscapes & Builds – under one unified roof.

Frilu will offer a complete end-to-end service of design, build and supply.

Amanda said: “As we combine and expand the business into new areas, it was clear we needed a new name that better represented us and what we can offer our clients.”

The inspiration for the name comes from the Scandinavian concept of Friluftsliv, which encourages people to embrace the outdoors as part of everyday life.

Amanda added: “There’s a great Scandinavian word that doesn’t have a direct translation, and it’s a word that really speaks to what we do: Friluftsliv.

“Its literal meaning is free-air-life and is all about encouraging people to spend time outside in nature. It’s what both Paul and myself are passionate about and what we want to offer our clients.

“By tweaking the name to keep it simple and memorable, Frilu was born.”

Paul added: “We’re excited for the next chapter in our business. We’ve been experiencing rapid growth in recent months, so as well as the rebrand, we’re expanding our team with three new local jobs. We felt there couldn’t be a better time to rebrand and take the businesses up a level.

“Despite a change in name, our core values, commitment to quality and customer service will remain unchanged.”

The official transition will take place next month.
