A free family fun day will be held at a new Lake District activity centre.
Keswick Adventures has converted a unit on Crosthwaite Road in the town and plans to open the new venue later this month.
But people can get a sneak peek at the facilities for free at the event tomorrow, March 30.
Keswick Adventures has been running adventure activities in and around the town for almost 10 years.
The family fun day is open to everyone from ages eight and up. Visitors will be able to try out free taster experiences of axe throwing, target archery, and battle archery, which is similar to paintball with specially designed arrows. There will be competitions and prizes on offer.
Lee Simpson, director of Keswick Adventures said “Keswick is the adventure capital of the country, but if it’s pouring down with rain, very hot, or very cold, sometimes you don’t want to be outside.
“We wanted to offer more indoor activities in Keswick that would get the blood rushing as much as our outdoor adventures like ghyll scrambling and canyoning.”
The company had been looking for a suitable venue for the last couple of years, Lee added.
He said: “We’ve been able to do these kinds of activities occasionally at temporary venues, but to have somewhere to call our own, where we can offer the full ‘Keswick Adventures experience’ is what we’ve been looking for this whole time.”
The venue includes changing rooms, a reception area with refreshments, a relaxing area, and new indoor activity areas.
The family fun day takes place from 11am to 3pm.
