Jarrod Sammut’s Keighley Cougars contract has been terminated after two months.
The former Super League half-back signed a one-year deal in January, but the club said this week that his contract had ended by mutual consent.
It said: “We wish Jarrod the best of luck in the future and thank him for his efforts during his time at the club.”
The ex-Barrow and Workington Town player had made three appearances for Keighley Cougars.
The Maltese international has also had spells at Bradford Bulls, London Broncos, Wakefield Trinity, and Wigan Warriors throughout his career.
Sammut left Workington Town in September and spent the end of last season at neighbours Bradford Bulls and helped the side get to the Championship semi-final in the play-offs.
The maverick half-back started his career in the NRL playing for Penrith Panthers in 2007, before heading to the Super League in 2010 to play for North Wales Crusaders and helped spearhead the Welsh side.
